FINDLAY, Ohio (AP) - A single-engine plane has crashed and burned in an abandoned quarry near the Findlay Airport in northwest Ohio.
Airport manager Bob Johnston says the unidentified pilot was able to walk away and to call the fire department for assistance Wednesday afternoon.
Johnston says the plane had just taken off from the airport and was was classified as a light sport aircraft, which is bigger than an ultralight but smaller than a conventional single-engine plane.
The cause of the crash has not been determined.
