FORT WAYNE, Ind. (Indiana's NewsCenter) - Fort Wayne's Midwest League baseball team is now known as the TinCaps. The new name was unveiled yesterday.

The name replaces the Wizards and harkens to the legend of Johnny Appleseed, who's often depicted wearing a cooking pot in drawings of the early 19th century figure.

Team colors will be red, green, and brown, and hats, uniforms, and other memorabilia with the new colors and logo are expected to appear in 6-8 weeks.

The revelation has sparked a lot of controversy, with fans emailing Indiana's NewsCenter and expressing their distaste with the TinCaps name. Though there are a few out there who have pledged their support for the TinCaps.

WOWO Radio's Charly Butcher gave his opinion on the name with Mary Collins and Ryan Elijah on Indiana's NewsCenter Today.
