FORT WAYNE, IN (Indiana's NewsCenter) - A Fort Wayne man sentenced to life without parole for his role in five murders has taken his own life in an Indiana prison.
Simon Rios was found hanging by his neck in a Pendleton Reformatory cell after 12:30 a.m. during a routine security check.
Attempts to revive Rios failed, and he was pronounced dead a little before 1:30 Thursday morning.
An autopsy was conducted in Madison County where Coroner Ned Dunnichay has ruled the death a suicide and the manner as asphyxiation by hanging.
