Charges Filed Over Web Ad For Gambling Machines

By Sandy Musser

FORT WAYNE, Ind. (AP) - A former Fort Wayne firefighter and his
grandson are charged with attempting to sell two gambling machines
on the Internet.

According to court documents, 73-year-old Glen R. Lantz and his
21-year-old grandson, John C. Flickinger, put two Cherry Masters
machines for sale on the Craigslist Web site.

Lantz was charged Thursday with promoting professional gambling
and Flickinger was charged with aiding in promoting professional
gambling.

An Indiana gaming control officer called Flickinger after seeing
the ad. According to court records, Lantz told the officer that his
grandson had talked him into selling the machines online.

Lantz declined Friday to comment until he spoke to his attorney.
There was no telephone listing for Flickinger in the Fort Wayne
area.
