FORT WAYNE, IN (Indiana's News Center)---Students and friends of Homestead High School student Rodney Thompson are honoring his memory.
The 18 year old was a senior at Homestead and played on the basketball team.
Thompson died in a car crash on Friday when police say he lost control of his vehicle on Dicke Road and hit a utility pole.
Over the last few days students and friends have set up 2 memorials in his honor. One is at the high school he attended in his assigned parking space. The other is on Dicke Road where the accident took place.
Charles Seals, Friend: " He just was a good guy. Everybody liked him. It wasn't no bad things that you could say about him too much. If you needed something, he was always there to help you out. I love that they blocked off his parking spot and everyone wore blue cause it was his favorite color. Just for the remembrance and love of Rodney."
His school parking spot will remain blocked off until further notice.
