FORT WAYNE, Ind. (Indiana's NewsCenter) - The Allen County Republican Party is celebrating victory in state and local races this post-election day.

Fort Wayne and Allen County was the only major metropolitan area in Indiana with the majority of voters supporting Republican presidential candidate John McCain.

This was despite big pushes by Democratic officials to get Barack Obama and 3rd district congressional candidate Mike Montagano elected.

Allen County GOP chairman Steve Shine, while appearing live on Indiana's NewsCenter Today, said every Republican on the ballot in Allen County won their race. That includes Governor Mitch Daniels, who won by a landslide, northeast Indiana Congressman Mark Souder and 6th district Congressman Mike Pence.

Allen County Republicans will celebrate the post-election today with the annual victory lunch at the GOP headquarters at Main & Harrison streets in downtown Fort Wayne.
