FORT WAYNE, Ind. (Indiana's NewsCenter) - While attending a luncheon in Fort Wayne Congressman Mark Souder said, both parties need to unite behind President-elect Barack Obama in case he's tested right out of the gate.

President Dmitry Medvedev said today, his country would deploy short-range missiles near Nato ally, Poland. It's not clear if they'll be fitted with nuclear warheads.

Souder says, “we need to be clear in our response and stand together as Americans and say, look Russia, look, you know, whoever pushes us, this isn't the time to do it. We'll stand behind our President and I hope his judgment plays out."

Medvedev also criticized the way the US handled Russia's war with Georgia, and said the "global" financial crisis is a consequence of selfish US policies.
