FORT WAYNE, Ind (Indiana's News Center)---A new bill that was introduced this week could have an impact on teen driving in the Hoosier state.

The law proposes that with driver's education, drivers 15-1/2 before possessing their learner's permit and 16-1/2 before applying for a driver's license.
Without drivers education teens would have to wait until seventeen years old to get their license.
The law would also prohibit anyone under the age of eighteen from using cell phones and hand free devices while driving.
Other restrictions with the law, no passengers for the first 180-days unless accompanied by a licensed instructor or a licensed driver 25-years or older.
The bill will be introduced next year during the general assembly.
