Ohio Smoking Ban Still Difficult To Enforce

OHIO (Indiana's NewsCenter) - Ohio officials are having a hard time enforcing the state's two-year old smoking ban.

Since the law was passed in 2006, 5% of complaints that were investigated statewide resulted in fines, and the appeals process for that can take months.

Health officials say the state failed to provide enough funding to enforce the smoking ban.

Some Ohio lawmakers are proposing legislation to exempt family-owned businesses and clubs from the law.
