WASHINGTON (Indiana's NewsCenter) - Four million additional children and young adults will now be eligible for government-sponsored health coverage.
The House overwhelmingly approved the "State Children's Health Insurance Program" or SCHIP Bill.
The program covers children up to age 19 in families that make too much for Medicaid but struggle to buy private insurance.
The bill calls for spending an additional $32.8 billion on the program.
President Obama signed the bill into law Wednesday evening.
