ENGLISH, Ind. (AP) - The Crawford County sheriff says that
despite previous reports former state Rep. Dennie Oxley had no
passengers in his vehicle when he was arrested on suspicion of
drunken driving.
Oxley was arrested Friday night on preliminary charges of
driving while intoxicated with a blood-alcohol content over 0.15
percent and a charge of driving while intoxicated with endangering
a person.
Sheriff Tim Wilkerson says Oxley - who was the Democratic
nominee for lieutenant governor last year - was alone in his
vehicle when he crashed into a parked car in the southern Indiana
town of Taswell. The sheriff's department had said Monday that
Oxley had a passenger.
Oxley has said he "made an error in judgment" and takes "full
responsibility" for his actions.
