FORT WAYNE, Ind. (21Alive) -- Old National Bancorp has announced that 41 full-time employees in the Fort Wayne area are expected to lose their jobs beginning in May.

Old National, headquartered in Evansville, previously announced its pending merger with Tower Financial corporation in Fort Wayne. The merger of the two organizations is the cause of the job loss. According to a WARN notice from Old National, the affected employees were notified in December 2013.

Spokespeople with Old National say that the bank has partnered with WorkOne Northeast through Northeast Indiana Works to ensure these employees receive all benefits and services they are entitled to and is providing job search skills workshops and personal coaching.
