Quarry Worker Killed By 3-Ton Limestone Slab

June 18, 2010 Updated Mar 17, 2009 at 5:51 AM EST BLOOMINGTON, Ind. (AP) - A Bloomington quarry worker was killed when a 3-ton piece of limestone fell on him. Monroe County Chief Deputy Mike Pershing says 47-year-old Tim L. McCammon of Bloomington died Monday afternoon at Victor Oolitic Stone Co. Pershing says the 14-foot-long, 6-foot-tall slab became unstable and fell to one side, crushing McCammon. He was pronounced dead at the scene.
