Business Expansion Awards

FORT WAYNE, Ind. (Indiana's NewsCenter) - Good things are happening for Fort Wayne businesses.

89 companies in Fort Wayne, New Haven and Allen County were recognized this morning for expanding their businesses, at the 15th annual Business Expansion Awards Breakfast hosted by the Fort Wayne - Allen County Economic Development Alliance.

Mayor Tom Henry says, “I think it’s important for the cities to be a partner in these relationships. Where cities can step up and provide incentives wither it’s a Facade Grant or a Tax Abatement or assistance for a city utility line or those type of ventures. I think speaks volumes as far as truly being a partner in the economic process.”

The award-winning companies announced more than $190 million in investments, the creation of more than 1,500 jobs and the retention of more than 4,000 employees.
