Protestors Arrested At Notre Dame

June 18, 2010 Updated May 9, 2009 at 7:34 AM EST SOUTH BEND, Ind. (Indiana's NewsCenter) - A former presidential candidate and 21 others were arrested on trespassing charges while protesting President Barack Obama's upcoming commencement speech for the Univeristy of Notre Dame graduates.

Republican Alan Keyes and some 75 additional protestors gathered outside the front gate of the University of Notre Dame's campus and recited the "Hail Mary" and other prayers Friday.

After 35 minutes of praying aloud and listening to Keyes speak, about 30 of them walked onto campus. Those who were arrested and handcuffed were taken to the St. Joseph County Jail, where they faced being held on a $250 bond.

Obama's support of abortion rights and embryonic stem-cell research has these protestors upset at the university for inviting the president to speak at graduation.
