Wells County, Ind. (Indiana's NewsCenter) - New charges Thursday for a Fort Wayne man who admitted to having a sexual relationship with a minor.
Indiana’s NewsCenter first broke the story Wednesday during the noon newscast.
A Wells County warrant has been issued for 57-year-old Dale K. Tucker who now faces one count of sexual misconduct with a minor in that county.
That's in addition to the four sexual misconduct charges he faces in Allen County and one charge of contributing to the delinquency of a minor.
A Wells County detective tells us Tucker was taking the 15-year-old boy home one evening in early March when he pulled to the side of the road and committed sexual acts on the boy.
Police say he admitted to these allegations as well as the several sex acts he performed on the victim at Tucker's home in Allen County between December and March.
Tucker is no longer employed as Music Director at Fort Wayne's First Wayne Street United Methodist Church and has not had his contract renewed to be a "Collaborative Pianist" at IPFW working with the University Singers.
Police say this is a good lesson for parents to always be aware of who your children are spending time with.
Officer Roy Sutphin says, ”If at any point in time you feel uncomfortable with any individual we encourage you to check those individuals. They shouldn't have any problems letting you know about their background or anything like that. If it's somebody who's close to the family, unfortunately a lot of time that's the person that it ends up being in these types of situations and you never suspected it coming and sometimes you don't find out until it's too late.”
If convicted of the Class B felony, Tucker could spend up to twenty years in prison and a maximum of $10,000 in fines, and if convicted, it will be up to the Allen and Wells County judges on how the sentences will be served.
