FORT WAYNE, Ind. (Indiana's NewsCenter) - A Fort Wayne pastor and businessman is accused of stealing money from the accounts of developmentally disabled adults living in group homes that he oversees.
56-year-old Ernest Beal, junior is charged with one-count of felony theft.
Court documents indicate that the administrator of a "client trust" for an organization called "Your Friends and Neighbors" told police that Pastor Beal ordered her to write checks several times from the resident's accounts, so he could cover various expenses, including payroll.
Beal told police he was paying the money back with interest, but when the charge was filed, the accounts were more than $75,000 short.
