Cause Of Willows Fire Finally Released

By Scott Sarvay

June 18, 2010 Updated Jun 11, 2009 at 11:35 AM EST FORT WAYNE, Ind. (Indiana's NewsCenter) - Fort Wayne fire investigators have released preliminary results showing what caused a deadly blaze at the Willows of Coventry apartment complex. Investigators think the January fire started “at” or “near” an electrical outlet. The blaze swept through an apartment building, killing three female International Business College students. Fire Chief Pete Kelly explains why the investigation took so long. Chief Kelly says, “I think when there's fatalities or serious injuries, we deal with all fires very carefully but in this case special attention and more people got involved. Whether it be insurance companies, attorneys.” Investigators don't think foul play was involved.
