Chicago Bids For 2016 Olympics In Switzerland

June 18, 2010 Updated Jun 17, 2009 at 11:16 AM EST SWITZERLAND (Indiana's NewsCenter) - A team from Chicago has led off the presentations of the four cities bidding for the 2016 Olympics. In Switzerland, the Chicago team stressed strong support from the white house and offered financial guarantees for staging the games. Mayor Richard Daley led a six-person delegation that made a 45-minute formal pitch to members of the International Olympic Committee, followed by a question-and-answer session. After that, Tokyo, Rio de Janeiro and Madrid delivered their presentations. The IOC will select the host city on October 2nd.
