June 18, 2010 Updated Jun 23, 2009 at 5:14 PM EST FORT WAYNE, Ind. (Indiana's NewsCenter) - A group of concerned citizens want their voice to be heard on the issue of a Fort Wayne casino. The Coalition for a Better Fort Wayne is organizing a trip to Indianapolis to speak with legislators. The goal at the Statehouse is to influence lawmakers that bringing a casino to Fort Wayne will be bad for business, and damage quality of life. They also want to emphasize that a casino does not create of wealth, but rather transfer wealth from the community to the casino. J. Bohn Popp with the Coalition for a Better Fort Wayne says, “If you think about this city, it has been named an All American City in the past. Why take ... why bring something that will lower the standards of Fort Wayne? That's really what we're concerned about.” The group of about twenty people will board a bus for the Statehouse Wednesday.
