CHESTERTON, Ind. (AP) - Sand castle architects may showcase their talents July 11 at a sand sculpture contest at Indiana Dunes State Park.

Judging will be in two categories: children 15 and younger, and family. Families will be limited to eight participants. Sculptures will be voted on by observers, and a "viewer's choice award" will be presented.

There is no entry fee, though entrance fees at the Lake Michigan park apply. Those are $5 per vehicle for Indiana residents and $10 per out-of-state vehicle.

Registration is 9 a.m. CDT at the west end of the park pavilion. Judging begins at noon, with awards at 1 p.m. The event is sponsored by the Friends of Indiana Dunes.
