Michael Jackson's Will Filed In Court

By Scott Sarvay

June 18, 2010 Updated Jul 1, 2009 at 4:21 PM EST LOS ANGLES, GARY, Ind. (Indiana's NewsCenter) - Another major twist has surfaced in the legal dealings over the late Michael Jackson’s estate. The 2002 document names his mother Katherine as guardian of his three children, with Diana Ross as her successor. It also puts his entire estate in a trust, the details of which are private. The executors of the estate are an attorney and a long time friend. The value of Jackson’s estate was estimated at more than half a billion dollars at the time the will was written. Meanwhile, authorities in California say "details are pending," but a flurry of activity at Michael Jackson’s Neverland Ranch is feeding speculation that a funeral or a permanent memorial is being prepared for him there. There are reports a "public" memorial will be held at the Neverland Ranch, followed by a private service on Sunday. Fans have been flocking to Neverland to pay their respects since Jackson died last week. Plans are also reportedly in the works for a public memorial to be held next week in Gary, where Jackson grew up. The city's mayor says he has been in contact with Jackson’s family about possibly arranging for the singer's body to lie in repose in Gary.
