INDIANAPOLIS (AP) - The Republican National Committee chairman is visiting Indianapolis for the state party's annual dinner.

Chairman Michael Steele is scheduled to deliver the keynote speech at the Indiana GOP dinner Wednesday at the downtown Marriott hotel. He's expected to speak around 7 p.m.

The former Maryland lieutenant governor succeeded Mike Duncan as
RNC chairman in January.

Steele also visited Indiana in April, when he spoke at the Vanderburgh County Right to Life annual dinner in Evansville. His appearance comes less than three weeks after former President Bill Clinton spoke at the Indiana Democratic Party's Jefferson Jackson Day fundraiser in June.
