Police Capture Huntington County Fugitive

June 18, 2010 Updated Jul 13, 2009 at 3:42 PM EST HUNTINGTON, IN (Indiana's NewsCenter)-- A man wanted in connection with a large fire near Mount Etna is in police custody. Authorities say 34 year old Barton Thompson was shot and injured sometime this morning, then taken into custody. His condition is not yet known. The search for Thompson started Sunday afternoon. It was around 1PM when police and fire units were called to a home on 600 West near Mt. Etna. A firefighter on the scene told police he heard what he believed to be gunshots then noticed smoke and flames coming from the home. It was a short time later that several other out buildings on the property were also on fire. A neighbor tells Indiana's NewsCenter that the suspect did have weapons on the property, and was seen shooting in the backyard frequently.
