Manhunt Continues For Escaped Convicts

MICHIGAN CITY, Ind. (Indiana's NewsCenter) - The manhunt continues for those two escaped convicts from the Indiana state prison.

Officials say new leads are being pursued and searching activities are shifting to the nearby Michigan town of Grand Beach, the location of where 48-year-old convicted murderer Charles Smith was captured Monday morning.

Officials say Smith and 2 others broke out of the Indiana state prison in Michigan City Sunday morning, by using underground tunnels and pipes.

They say 46-year-old Mark Booher of New Castle, Ind., also convicted of murder. Was seen with Smith Monday morning when Smith was captured.

Police are still looking for him and a third felon. Convicted rapist 45-year-old Lance Battreal of Rockport.
