Fort Wayne Doctor Charged With Sexual Battery And Criminal Confinement

By Scott Sarvay

FORT WAYNE, Ind. (Indiana's NewsCenter) - A Fort Wayne doctor charged with sexual battery and criminal confinement is now facing a civil suit from his alleged victim and her husband.

50-year-old Ashwani Duggal, who resigned from his position as a pathologist at Bluffton's Caylor Nickle Clinic, is accused of attacking and fondling his housekeeper, then forcefully holding her against her will, when she refused his advances to pay her for sex.

In the civil suit, the former housekeeper claims she was physically and emotionally traumatized, and suffered medical expenses and a loss of earnings as a result of the attack.

Duggal's criminal case is also pending.
