Children's Vision And Learning Month

June 18, 2010 Updated Aug 7, 2009 at 11:42 AM EST FORT WAYNE, Ind. (Indiana's NewsCenter) - Someone can have 20/20 vision but still have vision problems. That is one of the messages Children's Vision and Learning Month hopes to get across. But most of these problems can be improved with therapy. Dr. Carl Myers with the Indiana Vision Development Center says, “About 80% of what we learn comes through the visual system. And too often it is assumed that if a child has 20/20 eyesight that they in fact have perfect vision, that they don't have anything else wrong, but in fact there are over 15 skills that are involved in the learning process.” Larry Fitzgerald of the Arizona Cardinals claims vision therapy helped him succeed in the NFL.
