DECATUR, Ind. (Indiana’s NewsCenter) – An Adams County man charged with neglecting dozens of horses, has been arrested.

Police tell Indiana’s NewsCenter Rick Hill was arrested around 3 p.m. Friday. Hill faces one charge of "cruelty to animals."

Authorities removed 37 horses from his property on County Road 500 North, near Decatur, Thursday, after neighbors complained that the animals were too thin and not fed proper food and water.

Veterinarians will nurse the horses back to health in the coming weeks, while a judge decides what to do with them.

Hill is being held in the Adams County jail.
