NORTHEAST INDIANA (Indiana's NewsCenter) - You can now renew your vehicle registration by phone.

Bureau of Motor Vehicles Commissioner Andy Miller was in the Summit City Monday morning to kick-off the new pilot program, which is now available in a seven-county region, surrounding Fort Wayne.

Miller says the program, which is currently being used by 40 auto dealerships in the Fort Wayne area, is being offered as a convenience to customers and simply gives them another option to avoid a trip to the license branch.

Miller says, “What we are finding, the customers that are using these services, are much happier, because they don't have to go to the license branch, then again, this is usually for the vast majority of people, getting a card and sticker, and so any time they don't have to go to the license branch, that's a good thing for them.”

To renew your vehicle registration, simply call 1-888 MY-BMV 411.
