More Charges Filled Against Portland Man

ALLEN COUNTY, Ind. (Indiana's NewsCenter) - A Portland, Indiana man already jailed in Wells County now faces seventeen additional charges in Allen County.

39-year-old Theodore Schwartz is charged with rape, criminal deviate conduct, and burglary among other things.

The charges stem from an August 19th attack on a woman in her home near the Allen-Wells County Line.

Police say Schwartz stole the woman's car, lead police on a pursuit, broke into a home in Wells County, stole another vehicle, and robbed an Ossian grocery store before being apprehended.

Schwartz remains in the Wells County jail.
