NEWS HAVEN, Ind. (Indiana's NewsCenter) - After a long P.R. battle, Tuesday is the deadline for petitions for New Haven's Jury Pool dispute
At issue is the park department's proposal to borrow over $4 million to replace the facility.
The "yellow" side, in favor of the idea turned their signatures in to the voter registration office Tuesday morning, while the "blue" opponents will submit theirs Tuesday afternoon.
The opponents told us they feel it's too close to call, while those in favor of the proposal feel confident they have enough signatures
“Yellow" Petitioner Doug Geller says, “We're extremely optimistic, just the last 10 days there seems to be a groundswell of support with signatures, people calling my house and going to places where they could sign petitions and the last 10 days have made me very optimistic.”
Allen County's Voter Registration office has until November 18th to verify the signatures. If the "yellow" side does win, construction could start and the pool would likely open in 2011.
