Where You Can Find Seasonal And H1N1 Vaccines In Your Area: County By County Break Down

FORT WAYNE, Ind. (Indiana’s NewsCenter) – Indiana’s NewsCenter has called every health department in the viewing area to find out where you can receive the H1N1 and Seasonal vaccines.

Below you will find a complete list with phone numbers and websites to visit in your area.

Steuben County, IN

H1N1 flu clinic will be available for ages 6 months to 5 years old as well as pregnant women and people who live with and/or care for children ages 6 months or younger on Friday October 16 from 12:30-5:00 pm in the multi-purpose room at the Community Center, 317 South Wayne Street Angola, IN. This will be the injectable vaccine. On Monday October19th from 12:30-4:00 p.m. in the multi-purpose room at the Community Center, 317 South Wayne Street Angola, IN the H1N1 nasal mist for healthy people ages 2-9 years will be given. There is no cost for the H1N1 vaccine. Seasonal flu vaccines will be given October 14 from 2-4 for adult at the Health Department clinic on the third floor suite 3A. Seasonal Flu vaccines for children 6 months to 17 years old on Thursday October 15th from 9am to 12pm and again from 2pm to 4pm in the Health Department clinic on the third floor suite 3A. The Health Department does ask for donations for these shots.

The Steuben County Health Department is going to be offering Seasonal Flu vaccines for $15.00 on Wednesday October 14th from 2pm to 4pm in the Health Department clinic on the third floor suite 3A. The seasonal flu vaccine will be available for residents 18 years and older.

The Health Department is expecting more H1N1 injectable and mist vaccines throughout the week. The Health Department is reporting several H1N1 illnesses in the area. No deaths associated with the H1N1 flu have been reported.

The DeKalb County Health Department has a limited supply of the H1N1 injectable vaccine. It is already dedicated to pregnant women through a doctor and to health care workers. They also have some of the H1N1 nasal vaccine, but that is dedicated to the elementary schools. There is no seasonal flu vaccine available. Call 260-925-2220 for more information.

Officials with the Noble County Health Department say the first doses of the H1N1 vaccine arrived one week ago. Due to a limited amount of vaccine at this time, the target group for this first round will be pregnant women and children ages 6 months to 5 years old. Dr. Warrener, Noble County Health Officer, announced Tuesday that the first H1N1 clinic will be operated on Thursday October 22nd, 2009 from 4pm to 7pm at the Noble County Annex, 107 Weber Road, Albion, IN. A second clinic will be held on Sunday, October 25th, 2009, from 1pm to 5pm at the same location.

You do not need to make an appointment and there is no charge for the vaccine.

Health Department is offering seasonal vaccines for all residents. Pharmacies and private doctors are offering the vaccine as well.

Whitley County Health Department officials will be giving out H1N1 flu mist on October 15 at 1:30 p.m. at the immunization clinic at the Whitley County Government Center, 220 West Van Buren Street. They have 100 doses for healthy children ages 2-9 years old. Health Department officials will find out each Friday if they will be receiving more doses. When they do receive more they will continue to provide the vaccine to the targeted groups first.

The health department is offering seasonal vaccine to everyone. Seasonal is free for children and $15 for adults. Pharmacies and private doctors do have the seasonal flu vaccine for public at a cost.

Officials with the Wabash County Health Department received both versions of the H1N1 vaccine Tuesday. They received 400 doses of injectable and 100 flu mist vaccines. Health department officials will call people who have pre-registered for the vaccine fist. This group includes pregnant women and people health conditions. Health department officials say they hope to begin to give doses next week to those on the pre-registered list at the Health Department, 89 West Hill, Wabash. No charge for the H1N1 vaccine.

The health department is out of the seasonal vaccine. No word on if pharmacies or private doctors have the seasonal vaccine. Health Department officials are expecting more seasonal flu vaccines from the state. The cost for the seasonal vaccine is $15 for adults and free for kids.

Officials with the Huntington County Health Department say the received doses of the H1N1 vaccine early this week. They say the doses are being given to healthcare providers across the county first. Officials hope to have an H1N1 vaccine clinic for young children, young adults, pregnant women, and those who are at a high risk for influenza on October 31st. They say you should call 260-358-4831 before coming to the health department for a vaccination.

Health officials say they are currently out of seasonal flu vaccines, but hope to have more soon.

The Wells County Health Department is not administering H1N1 vaccine at this time. When the vaccine becomes available, the Health Department will hold H1N1 flu shot clinics. Information regarding date, time and location of the clinics will be released to the public as soon as the information becomes available.

Anyone can receive the season vaccine on Tuesday, October 6, 2009 at the 4-H Park, 1240 S. 4-H Road, Bluffton, IN from 9am-5pm. Also on Wednesday, October 14, 2009 at New Hope Lutheran Church, 8824 N SR 1, Ossian, IN from 10 am- 5pm. The cost is $15.00 per flu shot. Seniors must have Medicare and supplemental insurance cards

Adams County Health Department officials say they have distributed the nasal and injectable versions of the H1N1 vaccine to local health providers and hospital officials. They say anyone in the targeted groups can should call their health provider for more information.

Monday, health officials distributed 823 H1N1flu mist. They say they'll have some H1N1 mist left going into Wednesday depending on how many people they distribute to on Tuesday. Once that supply is gone the health department won't have any more H1N1 flu mist until next week.

People who live with or provide care to infants less than six months of age can now get the free H1N1 vaccination at Carew Medical Park while supplies last. You cannot receive this vaccine if you have asthma or are sick with nasal congestion. No one older than 49 years of age can receive this vaccine.

Dept. of Health anticipates another shipment of H1N1 vaccine arriving October 13. But, most of the vaccine is expected to be pushed out to providers who will distribute it to high-risk children and pregnant women. Health officials say Tuesday's shipment will be small, they are expecting more next week.

The Health Department only has seasonal flu shots for children six months to 3 years of age. Older children and adults wanting a seasonal flu shot will need to see a doctor or pharmacy or visit a Super Shot location.

Health Department officials in Paulding County, Ohio are not offering the H1N1 vaccine at this time. They say once they do receive the vaccine they will give it to healthcare and EMS workers first.

They do not have the seasonal vaccine at this time.

Van Wert Health Department does have 160 doses of the H1N1 flu mist. At this time the health department is only offering the H1N1 flu mist to healthcare providers who won't receive the vaccine from their employers. The healthcare worker must be under 49 years old, healthy and not pregnant. There will be an H1N1 clinic on October 14 from 3pm to 7pm for those healthcare workers. There is no appointment necessary. You can get the vaccine at the Van Wert County Health Department, 140 Fox Road Suite 402, Van Wert, OH.

Health Department officials say when more of the H1N1 vaccine does arrive pregnant woman, people who live with or care for infants under 6 months of age, healthcare and emergency medical workers, children and young adults ages 6 months to 24 years of age, and anyone 25-64 years of age who have medical problems that put them at risk for influenza complications will be first in line. There is no cost for the H1N1 flu mist or injectable vaccine at the health department.

Health Department officials have limited supplies of seasonal flu. They will be getting more seasonal flu in the coming weeks. Seasonal vaccine is available for people with no medical insurance or ability to pay and for chronic medical conditions have to have all three criteria. Down to six injectable seasonal flu doses for children. Children are $10 and adults are $25 for seasonal flu vaccines. Check with family doctor and pharmacies to see if they are carrying the seasonal flu.
