STEUBEN COUNTY, Ind. (Indiana's NewsCenter) - Steuben County authorities say they have shut down a door-to-door search for a disabled man who they believe wandered away from his family's home at Snow Lake early Sunday morning.
They are still asking for the public's help as to the whereabouts of 48-year-old Stuart Stalcup.
He'd been living with his older parents since December when he suffered a debilitating stroke.
Police say Stalcup, who is an insulin dependent diabetic, may have taken a box of insulin with him, but it's not clear if he'd remember to take the medicine.
Steuben County Detective Dale Murray says, “I think it's important that we get the word out and see if there's anybody can help us at this point. I think the area has gotten so vast that now we're just kind of hoping for people and a phone call."
If you have any information, you're urged to call the Steuben County Sheriff's Department at (260) 665- 3131.
