FORT WAYNE, Ind. (Indiana's NewsCenter) - The Fort Wayne TinCaps season is over, but the new Parkview Field where the team plays their home game is still taking in business and profits.
TinCaps General Manager Mike Nutter says a 20-year anniversary for Homestead High School is among the non-baseball events booked at Parkview Field since the season ended.
18,000 paying visitors poured into the facility in September, but that mark was eclipsed in short order.
Nutter says, “October is our biggest month we've ever had. We've hosted a couple of wedding receptions, an actual wedding. All kinds of company functions, lunches, dinners. There's a lot of useable space out here and people are taking advantage."
The event bookings are good news for the city of Fort Wayne, which gets a one-dollar cut from every paying customer taking part in an activity at Parkview Field.
