FORT WAYNE, Ind. (Indiana's NewsCenter) - An abandon Styrofoam cooler left in some bushes outside the City-County Building caused a little bit of a stir Wednesday afternoon.
Authorities say the cooler was first spotted in the bushes, then someone moved it to the deputy mayor's parking space in the parking garage basement.
Not knowing what was inside, the bomb squad was called in.
Allen County Safety Director Tony Burrus says, “We didn't feel like there would be an explosive device, just like you said, we take precautions... and it sort of allowed us to have staff to train and then utilize our plan on assessing threats.”
As it turns out there was only an ice pack inside.
