UPDATE: Newspaper Reports Hasan Acted Alone In Deadly Shooting Rampage

June 18, 2010 Updated Nov 5, 2009 at 6:58 PM EST FORT HOOD, Texas (Indiana's NewsCenter) - A newspaper in Austin, Texas is reporting that Major Malik Nadal Hasan acted alone during the shootings at the Fort Hood Army base that resulted in 12 deaths and 31 wounded. The newspaper is reporting 2 other soldiers taken into custody have been released. The suspected gunman was identified by ABC News as Major Malik Nadal Hasan. The shooting began around 1:30 p.m. says Lt. Gen Bob Cone. All the casualties took place at the base's Soldier Readiness Center where soldiers who are about to be deployed or who are returning undergo medical screening. He says the primary shooter used two handguns in the attack. Fort Hood is located halfway between Austin and Waco. The 384th Army Reserve, 122nd Air National Guard and the 293rd Army National Guard say no men or women from their units are at Fort Hood at this time.
