FORT WAYNE, Ind. (Indiana's NewsCenter) - The vote on the health care bill may not take place this weekend as originally planned.

House Democratic Leader Steny Hoyer announced Friday morning that the make-or-break vote on the President's top priority could face delay and might not come until Sunday or later.

Democrats indicated they don't have enough votes lined up to conduct the vote tomorrow.

One person who is not voting for it is Republican Indiana 5th District Congressman Dan Burton.

Congressman Burton says, “Because it is going to cost 1.2 trillion dollars we don't have for the next ten years. It is going to increase taxes by almost 730 billion dollars on small business and individuals, and a time we are suffering from economic woes in this country, we certainly don't need to have a tax increase.”

President Obama plans to personally lobby for the bill in a visit to Capitol Hill Saturday.

And it was on that issue that nearly 40 protesters gathered in front of the federal courthouse Friday.

They were there to let public officials know where they stand on the issue.

Those we talked to say the bill will probably pass in the House over the weekend but they hope the Senate will take a stand against government controlled health care.

Member of the Allen 9-12 Chris McCalley says, “We are here today trying to get Senator Bayh's attention because if this ultimately passes tomorrow, which we feel that it will then it needs to be killed in the Senate. Hopefully it gets killed tomorrow. And then go back to the drawing board, put together some legislation that actually address the real issues of health care.”

The protesters are members of a group called Allen 9-12.
