CALIFORNIA (Indiana's NewsCenter) - The Los Angeles Times is reporting that more than 1,000 Toyota and Lexus owners have reported sudden, spontaneous acceleration of their vehicles.
But the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration had previously said it received reports of 100 of those incidents.
Back in September, Toyota announced it was recalling 3.8 million vehicles in the U.S. due to an improper-fitting floormat, which could possibly get stuck under the gas pedal.
The sudden acceleration is believed to have caused an accident in California earlier this year where four people were killed.
The recall is the largest the company has ever issued.
