FORT WAYNE, Ind. (Indiana's NewsCenter) - Vera Bradley, known for their quilted handbags, has made a generous donation to Indiana University all in the name of breast cancer research.
In total the Vera Bradley Foundation has given the university's cancer center in Indianapolis $10 million since 1998.
Company co-founder Patricia Miller says she hopes the gift helps researchers develop early detection methods.
IU says its breast cancer program has grown from 6- 34 researchers since 1999, with Vera Bradley Foundation funding helping recruit ten of those faculty members.
