Tax Credit Error May Result In You Having To Pay More On This Year's Taxes

June 18, 2010 Updated Nov 16, 2009 at 5:30 PM EST WASHINGTON (Indiana's NewsCenter) - Millions of taxpayers could end up owing Uncle Sam money next spring. It turns out the government was too generous with the new 'Making Work Pay' tax credit. The tax credit was made available through new withholding tables issued by the IRS. The problem is they didn’t take into account taxpayers who have multiple jobs, married couples who are both employed, and social security recipients who earn taxable wages. Those taxpayers are all at risk for having to repay.
