COLUMBIA CITY, Ind. (Indiana's NewsCenter) - In Columbia City students are working hard on a fundraiser of their own.

The Columbia City High School Student Council organized their very own Turkey Run collecting food and donations for needy families in the Whitley County community.

It's the fourth year for the fundraiser and students hope to double their contribution this time around.

Senior student Alex Parker says, “This year our goal is to serve over a hundred families. Our first year, we did around 30 or 40 but we are definitely going to get a hundred this year...so that is quite an improvement.”

The fundraiser wraps up Thursday.
