FORT WAYNE, Ind. (Indiana's NewsCenter) - One of the most talked-about political figures in the country spent a few hours in the Summit City on Thursday.
Sarah Palin’s arrival at the Meijer on Maysville Road is the second stop on a national tour promoting her new book “Going Rogue”.
Palin’s book tour has gained national media attention since her first stop in Grand Rapids, Michigan Wednesday and the coverage hasn’t stopped.
A number of national media trucks parked in front of the Meijer to continue their book tour coverage.
More than 1,200 people waited, some for more than eight hours, in a line that snaked from the inside of the store, out a side door and to the front of the building.
Palin's blue tour bus arrived just before noon. Once inside, the former vice presidential candidate and Alaska governor began signing books.
Palin’s next stop is to Noblesville, Indiana near Indianapolis.
Even though she won't appear until 6 p.m. Thursday night, about a-thousand people started lining up at 7 a.m for the book signing.
The first thousand people to buy copies of the book and line up at the stores were eligible for wristbands that entitled them to have
Palin autograph their books.
The Borders bookstore plans to have fans line up after a security check at about 5 p.m.
Be sure to watch the 20/20 Barbara Walters interview with Sarah Palin on 21 Alive Friday night at 10 p.m.
