Senator Lugar's Wife Charged With Drunk Driving And Hit And Run

June 18, 2010 Updated Nov 19, 2009 at 6:13 PM EST VIRGINIA (Indiana's NewsCenter) - The wife of Senator Richard Lugar has been charged with drunk driving and hit and run after hitting a vehicle in northern Virginia. Fairfax County Police say an officer stopped 76-year-old Charlene Lugar Wednesday night at a McLean intersection after seeing damage to her car and smoke coming from the hood. Police later determined that she also hit an unattended parked car about two miles away from the traffic stop. A trial is scheduled for January 8th.
