Anti-Darwin 'Origin Of Species' Given To Students

June 18, 2010 Updated Nov 20, 2009 at 10:43 AM EST WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. (AP) - Christian activists have gone to Purdue University's main campus to hand out 2,000 copies of Charles Darwin's "Origin of Species" with a 50-page introduction intended to debunk his theory of evolution. The giveaway Thursday is part of a nationwide effort by California-based minister Ray Comfort and actor Kirk Cameron to distribute more than 100,000 copies of the book on university campuses. Pastor Jared Brothers of Stringtown Church of God in Covington helped distribute the anti-Darwin book. He says the goal is to get God's word out. But Purdue senior Mike Brownstein says anyone who reads the book will see through the introduction. (Copyright 2009 by The Associated Press. All Rights Reserved.)
