Thanksgiving Dinners Costs Less This Year

By Scott Sarvay

June 18, 2010 Updated Nov 20, 2009 at 10:26 PM EST FORT WAYNE, Ind. (Indiana's NewsCenter) - The cost of a Thanksgiving dinner has dropped for the third year in a row according to the Indiana Farm Bureau. The biggest food savings comes from a drop in the prices of turkey and milk. Turkey is down seven-cents a-pound from last year and milk dropped by eighty-one cents a-gallon. Overall, the cost of a meal that feeds ten-people is a-little less than $44. $1.63 less than last year. Kathleen Dutro with Indiana Farm Bureau Media Relations says, “You cannot eat at a fast food restaurant for ten people for $43.93. So it's important for people to realize that food is still really cheap and that's good for consumers and we just want to continue to give them the food that they need.” The Indiana Farm Bureau convention continues at the Grand Wayne Center through Saturday.
