Dennie Oxley hospitalized with an undisclosed illness.

June 18, 2010 Updated Nov 24, 2009 at 10:39 AM EST JASPER, Ind. (AP) - The family of state Rep. Dennie Oxley says he's in stable condition in the critical care unit of a southern Indiana hospital. His family issued a statement Tuesday saying that the 60-year-old freshman lawmaker was being held for observation at Jasper Memorial Hospital on Nov. 17 "when he went into cardiac arrest." The statement says Oxley is steadily improving and that his family is encouraged by his medical progress. Oxley is a Democrat from the Crawford County town of Taswell and was elected last year to represent House District 73, succeeding his son, Dennie Oxley Jr., who held the seat for 10 years.
