June 18, 2010 Updated Nov 28, 2009 at 6:33 PM EST FORT WAYNE, Ind. (Indiana's NewsCenter) - Around 10:40 a.m. Saturday morning, Fort Wayne Police responded to a call for an armed robbery on the city’s Southside. The two suspects were carrying knifes when they robbed the Golden Nail Supply on South Calhoun Street. Police described one of the suspects as wearing a ski mask and a white t-shirt. The other suspect is described as not wearing a ski mask to hid his face and wearing a black hooded sweatshirt. The crooks demanded money and ran away from the store with cash. Officers don’t know what direction they ran away to. No one was injured. Less than 30 minutes later at 11:05 a.m., Fort Wayne Police received a call for another robbery less than three miles away at a Dairy Queen on Southview Avenue. Investigators are looking into a possible armed robbery spree in Fort Wayne. “The armed robberies have seemed to increase within the last few weeks, so we don’t know exactly if its a trend due to the holiday season or what the situation is”, said Officer John Chambers, of the Fort Wayne Police Department. Fort Wayne Police do not have any leads but will make their selves more visible in the community especially in the city’s business districts. If you know anything, you’re asked to call Fort Wayne Police immediately.
