June 18, 2010 Updated Nov 30, 2009 at 6:41 PM EST FORT WAYNE, Ind. (Indiana's NewsCenter) - Fort Wayne detectives are searching for two armed suspects who may be responsible for a crime spree of armed robberies, including one Monday morning. Around nine o'clock, employees at the Advance Auto Parts on South Lafayette Street called police, saying they had been robbed. They told officers the suspects were black men, in their late teens or early twenties, at least one with a slight build. Both were armed with knives. They took cash, and were last seen running south on Lafayette. Detectives are looking into whether the same suspects pulled off three robberies in Fort Wayne recently. Investigators believe the same men robbed the Golden Nail Supply Shop on South Calhoun Street and the Dairy Queen on Southview Avenue within a half hour Saturday morning. “They look more for opportunity than they do the holiday season. I would find it hard to believe there is a correlation between the holidays and robberies. It’s always been a case of what they perceived as opportunity or desperation”, said Officer Mike Joyner of the Fort Wayne Police Department. Indiana's NewsCenter’s John W. Davis spoke to the owner of the Golden Nail Supply Monday to see how he’s coping with being robbed. The owner said he is doing well but a sign on his front door read otherwise. It said, “Door is locked. Knock or call” to enter. Police are warning business owners and community members to be on alert. “If you see something out of the ordinary, it probably is” said Joyner. If you have any information, you’re asked to call the Fort Wayne Police Department.
