WASHINGTON (Indiana's NewsCenter) - President Obama's Afghanistan strategy faced scrutiny for the second day in a row on Capitol Hill.
A Senate Committee is holding hearings to discuss the plan to send 30,000 additional troops to Afghanistan.
The plan includes a troop withdrawal starting in July 2011.
Indiana Senator Richard Lugar highlighted the looming problem of Pakistan and its potential to become a hideout for insurgents.
Lugar says, “If these safe havens persists any strategy in Afghanistan will be substantially incomplete. Specifically, will Pakistan work with us to eliminate the leadership of Osama bin Laden and other major al Qaeda officials."
Many Democrats are against Mr. Obama’s plan to beef up troops for the eight-year-old war.
And some Republicans aren't happy the President has set withdrawal deadline.
