Book Deal Questioned In Indiana Family Slaying Case

June 18, 2010 Updated Dec 4, 2009 at 9:49 AM EST NEW ALBANY, Ind. (AP) - Lawyers for a former state trooper whose convictions of killing his wife and two young children have twice been overturned want the county prosecutor thrown off the case for negotiating a book deal about it. David Camm's defense attorneys say such a deal creates a conflict of interest for Floyd County Prosecutor Keith Henderson that requires the selection of a special prosecutor. It is currently Henderson's decision whether to pursue a third trial against Camm for the 2000 killings at the family's home in the southern Indiana town of Georgetown. Henderson says that he agreed to write a book about the case after the state attorney general's office had taken over the appeal. He says the agreement was terminated once the Indiana Supreme Court overturned Camm's conviction in June. (Copyright 2009 by The Associated Press. All Rights Reserved.)
